Mehandi

Mehndi in Indian tradition is typically applied during special Hindu weddings Megandhi and Hindu festivals like Karva Chauth, Vat Purnima, Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Teej. In Hindu festivals, many women have Henna applied to their hands and feet and sometimes on the back of their shoulders too, as men have it applied on their arms, legs, back, and chest. For women, it is usually drawn on the palm, back of the hand and on feet, where the design will be clearest due to contrast with the lighter skin on these surfaces, which naturally contain less of the pigment melanin. Henna was originally used as a form of decoration mainly for Hindu brides.

Uses

  • It’s beneficial for the health of the skin.
  • It has cooling effect for the skin in burning sensations of skin.
  • The Flowers are stimulating to mind and strength giving to the heart and the brain.
  • The seed is styptic (arrests the blood flow)
  • The paste of leaves when applied on hairs, prevents graying and adds to the shine of the hairs.
  • In case of small burns, cloth dipped in the decoction of bark of henna is put on the burned area.

Hair Treatment

'Hair Care' is taken to mean care of hair on the human head, but mention may be made of processes and services which impact hair on other parts of the body.

This includes men's and women's facial, pubic, and other body hair, which may be colored, trimmed, shaved, plucked, or otherwise removed with treatments such as waxing, sugaring, and threading. These services are offered in salons, barbershops, and day spas, and products are available commercially for home use.

Laser hair removal and electrolysis are also available, though these are provided (in the US) by licensed professionals in medical offices or speciality spas.

Hair colouring

Hair colouring is the process of adding pigment to or removing pigment from the hair shaft. Hair colouring processes may be referred to as colouring or bleaching, depending on whether you are adding or removing pigment.

Hair Treatment Temporary hair tints simply coat the shaft with pigments which later wash off.
  • Most permanent colour changes require that the cuticle of the hair be opened so the colour change can take place within the cuticle.

  • This process, which uses chemicals to alter the structure of the hair, can damage the cuticle or internal structure of the hair, leaving it dry, weak, or prone to breakage.

  • After the hair processing, the cuticle may not fully close, which results in coarse hair or an accelerated loss of pigment.

  • Generally, the lighter the chosen colour from one's initial hair colour, the more damaged it may be.

Tweezing the Brows

Which hairs you tweeze and which ones you don't is the difference between attractively shaped brows and misshapen ones. Try using an eyebrow pencil to draw on different shapes over your brow area to see which shape looks the best. Use a magnifying mirror, at least a 5X magnification, so you can see each hair. Go slowly (one hair at a time) so you don't over-tweeze.

Eye Brow The beginning of the brow should align with the center of the nostril. The arch of the brow should fall at the back third of the eye. The eyebrow should follow the length of the eye but it shouldn't extend into the temple area. The basic rule is that the front part of the brow should never drop below the back part of the brow. Allowing this to happen, either with the way you tweeze your eyebrows or the way you draw them on, makes you look like you’re frowning and overemphasizes the downward movement of the back part of the eye.

Avoid over-tweezing above the brow. A few stray hairs are fine to remove, but too much and it can create an unnatural look. Do not overstate the shape of the brow; minimal brow alteration is best. Do not pluck brows into a thin line thinking it will make your eyes look larger. It can look dated or give the face a surprised look and this shape is not easy to correct once the damage is done.

The Best Tools for Tweezing

  • To shape the brow, tweezing is probably the best option for accuracy and to prevent mistakes.
  • The best tweezers are the ones from Revlon or Tweezerman. Which type (both companies offer several options) works best for you is about personal preference.
  • Waxing is an option but it's hard to control the wax. You may inadvertently remove the wrong hairs.
  • Never shave. This presents too big a risk of removing too many hairs at once, leading to a patchy, overly thin or wildly uneven brow. None of that is attractive!

How to Fill in the Brow Using Products

There are many ways to fill in a brow.

The easiest to consider are: Brow Powders or powder eyeshadows in shades that closely match the color of your brow. Choose a soft-textured matte powder and apply with a soft wedge brush or a thin liner brush.

Begin application in the center of the brow and work outward toward the brow tip then back toward the beginning of the brow. Use short, light strokes between the brow hairs, and apply a bit more pressure (for stronger color) when defining the underside of the brow. Use a clean toothbrush (or a brow brush, which is similar but more expensive) to soften the color and groom the brow.

For unruly brows, a clear brow gel may be applied to keep hairs in place. Alternately, you may apply a bit of hairspray to the toothbrush, and comb this through the brow for hold and control.

Using a Brow Pencil Eyebrow pencils are a standard way to fill in brows but many can produce a greasy, hard look or mat the brow hair, so make sure you use a pencil that has a smooth, light texture and soft, dry finish. If penciling doesn't look absolutely natural, don’t do it.

Follow the same application technique described under brow powders when using an eyebrow pencil. Keep in mind that most brow pencils deposit stronger color than a powder, so take care to use a light touch. If you apply too much color, soften the effect with a Q-Tip that has been dipped in makeup remover. Do not apply eyebrow pencil too close to the inner brow (near the nose). Adding more than a bit of color here tends to create a too-strong or angry-looking brow.

Colored eyebrow gels and brow tints work well for making the most of sparse, light-colored eyebrows or for giving a thicker look to most other eyebrows. These products look like mascara but they have a much lighter consistency and are less pigmented. At first, you might have trouble controlling the amount of gel or tint you apply to your brow, but once you get the hang of it, brow gel or tint can make sparse brows look full and more natural.

Manicure

A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the fingernails and hands performed at home or in a nail salon.

A manicure consists of filing, shaping of the free edge, pushing (with cuticle pusher) and clipping (with cuticle nippers) any nonliving tissue (limited to cuticle and hangnails) from the nail plate, treatments, massage of the hand and the application of polish. When applied to the toenails and feet, this treatment is referred to as a pedicure.pedicure & manicure

Some manicures can include the painting of pictures or designs on the nails or applying small decals or imitation jewels. Other nail treatments may include the application of artificial nail gels, tips, or acrylics, some of which are referred to as French manicures. In many areas, manicurists are licensed and follow regulation. Since skin is manipulated and is sometimes trimmed, there is a certain risk of spreading infection when tools are used across many people and therefore, sanitation is a serious issue.

Hot oil manicure

A hot oil manicure is a specific type of manicure that cleans the cuticles and softens them with oil. Types of oils that can be used are mineral oil, olive oil, some lotions or commercial preparation in an electric heater.

Shape

There are several nail shapes - the basic shapes are oval, square oval, pointed, almond, round, square, square with rounded corners, and straight with a rounded tip. The square oval shape is sometimes known as a "squoval", a term coined in 1984. The squoval is considered a sturdy shape, useful for those who work with their hands.

Pedicure

A pedicure is a superficial cosmetic treatment of the feet and toenails. It provides a similar service to a manicure. Pedicures are done for cosmetic, therapeutic and medical purposes, and can help prevent nail diseases and nail disorders. They are extremely popular throughout the world, primarily among women.

Pedicures are not just limited to nails; usually dead skin cells on the bottom of feet are rubbed off using a rough stone called a pumice stone. Additionally, leg care below the knee became a common and now expected service included in pedicures. Leg care includes depilation via either shaving or waxing followed by granular exfoliation, application of moisturizing creams, and a brief leg massage.

Facial & Skin Treatment

You may merely enjoy the pampering and relaxation you feel when receiving a facial treatment, but there are a multitude of other benefits that offer you and your skin health and wellness. Choosing the type of facial you want depends on what you're looking for and what you can afford.
Some facial treatments are designed to deep-clean the skin, while others offer moisturizing benefits, and still others help to relieve stress, which often causes acne.

Emotional Benefits
  • Facial treatments feel good, offering soothing relaxation, according to Day Spas.
  • Facial massage treatments increase circulation and the flow of blood, and they include a variety of creams, aromatherapy and oils that moisturize the skin, smell good, and relieve stress as well as encourage peace of mind and contentment.

Steps

  • Meet and Greet
  • Once you arrive at Massage Envy Spa, our front desk will greet you and ask you to fill out an Esthetic Wellness Chart and a quick survey. The Esthetic Wellness Chart is where you record any medical history pertaining to neck, head and face, and other physical or skin conditions we should be made aware of.

Your esthetician will greet you and review the Esthetic Wellness Chart with you. They will inquire about the reason(s) you are coming for a facial, your current skin condition and any specific areas in which you would like addressed during your facial.

  • Starting Your Session
  • Your esthetician will then take you to a peaceful, spa-like treatment room where a comfortable table dressed with a warming blanket and clean sheets awaits. A small shelf for your personal belongings and a chair are also provided for your use. Your esthetician will leave the room and wait outside while you disrobe from the waist up.

Once disrobed, you will lie on the table, under the top sheet, face up. Your esthetician will give you a few minutes for this process and will knock on the door to ask if you are ready before entering your room.

    Facial & Skin Treatment
  • During Your Facial
  • Before beginning the session, your esthetician will perform a skin analysis on your face to determine which Healthy Skin facial is the most appropriate. Once the esthetician has finished the analysis, they will give you a brief overview of your skin condition and description of the facial they recommend.

Each of Massage Envy Spa's Healthy Skin facials includes cleansing, toning, mask, treatment, extractions and massage. Massage Envy Spa exclusively uses professional Murad skincare products in all our facials.

  • Ensuring Your Wellness
  • Once your facial session is completed, your esthetician will share recommended homecare product information with you. They will then leave the room so you may re-dress. Your esthetician will wait outside the room for you, and then take you back to the front area.

Our facial sessions are one hour in length. This time includes a 5 minute pre-interview, 50 minutes of hands-on time and 5 minutes at the end for you to re-dress. If you have additional questions, one of our friendly front desk associates will be happy to answer them for you.

Nivetha Beauty Clinic offers professional Beauty treatments like facials are done by a licensed and trained esthetician. They using proper professional skin care products and equipment such as steamers, Galvanic and Laser machines to achieve the best results.

The process is known as beauty without a knife. Spa treatments are basically the same but using the word Spa instead of Institute of beauty center. Treatments may include holistic therapy such as massage during the facials by utilizing natural massage.

The experience of "beauty" often involves an interpretation of some entity as being in balance and harmony with nature, which may lead to feelings of attraction and emotional well-being. Because this can be a subjective experience, it is often said that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

How much money a person earns may also be influenced by physical beauty. One study found that people low in physical attractiveness earn 5 to 10 percent less than ordinary looking people, who in turn earn 3 to 8 percent less than those who are considered good looking.

Massage for the body is a popular beauty treatment, with various techniques offering benefits to the skin (including the application of beauty products) and for increasing mental well-being. Hair removal is offered at some beauty salons through treatments such as waxing and threading. Some beauty salons style hair instead of going to a separate hair salon, and some also offer sun tanning. Other treatments of the face are known as facials.

Specialized beauty salons known as nail salons offer treatments such as manicures and pedicures for the nails. A manicure is a treatment for the hands, incorporating the fingernails and cuticles and often involving the application of nail polish, while a pedicure involves treatment of the feet, incorporating the toenails and the softening or removal of calluses.
